American Electric Karting League – Round 3 and 4 | Oakland Valley Race Park, New York

The roar of electric speed filled Oakland Valley Race Park (OVRP) as the American Electric Karting League powered by Blue Shock Race delivered an unforgettable double-header weekend for Rounds 3 & 4. Under the summer sun, fans witnessed not only fierce competition but also a celebration of karting heritage, as retro machines from the 1960s shared the paddock with today’s cutting-edge BSR electric racing karts.

Carnes Strikes Gold in Round 4

After five hard-fought rounds, Kyler Carnes #22 (KJC Racing) finally stood on the top step of the podium, collecting 71 championship points and moving into the overall lead. His main rival, Jack Lindner #9 (Kinetix Racing), secured P2 with 45 points, holding onto second place overall — just one point ahead of Guillermo Hernandez #19 (Dorado Karting), who claimed his first-ever league podium.

The crowd erupted as Hernandez edged out rookie Ray Cheng in a nail-biting final sprint. In the Heavy Class, Sebastian De Francisco #33 showed blistering pace before a rear axle & sprocket mount failure cut his race short while fighting for the podium.

Light Class: Richardson’s Perfect Streak

In Light Class, Pareker Traut #6 (The Dirty Birds) took pole in qualifying but couldn’t stop championship leader Yamori Richardson #7 (Kinetix Racing), who extended his score to a perfect 100 points. The battle for second remains wide open between Julian Traut #99 (The Dirty Birds) and Dariusz Woronowicz #161, who continues his hunt for a first victory.

Generations Meet on Track

One of the weekend’s most inspiring moments came off the grid — retro karting veterans from as far back as 1965 took to the OVRP track alongside the latest BSR electric racing karts, experiencing first-hand the leap in performance, technology, and sustainability. Many of these veterans later jumped into electric karts themselves, proving that passion for speed transcends generations.

Thanks to OVRP and Tim

A heartfelt thank-you goes to Tim, OVRP’s owner and race director, whose strict but fair approach kept the racing clean and the paddock welcoming. His dedication to sportsmanship and community spirit was felt by every driver and fan.

Next Stop – Atlanta Motorsports Park
